Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Moderate flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At both
Plumfield and Murphysboro, the river will continue to fall slowly
through next week.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

forecast.

- At 8:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 27.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Thursday evening.

* WHAT...Temperatures as low as 34 degrees will result in frost
formation.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and
western Kentucky.

* WHEN...From 1 AM CDT /2 AM EDT/ to 8 AM CDT /9 AM EDT/ Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive
outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Isolated sheltered locations could see
temperatures fall as low as 32 degrees, which would result in a
light freeze.

Herrin Junior High to shift carpool process due to construction

HERRIN, Ill. -- The Junior High School in Herrin will see impacts to its carpool system beginning Monday due to road construction near the school.聽

The intersection of East Ford Street and South 14th Street will close starting Monday morning. The city maintenance will complete work on the drainage system during this time.聽

Students using the school's bus system will arrive on East Stotlar Street. Those getting rides from guardians need to drop off at Ash Street.聽

The school is urging members of its community to allow extra commute time and prepare for more congestion on South 13th Street.聽

The construction is expected to be completed by mid-week.聽
