Human remains found in Bollinger County in missing person investigation

BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. -- Human remains were found on Thursday during a search of a 225-acre property within Bollinger County as part of an investigation for a missing person.

The missing person investigation the sheriff's office stated this was part of was posted on their Facebook page on October 2, which was 42-year-old Leah Lamb.

The sheriff's office earlier said Lamb has a registered address out of St. Louis but was believed to have been staying in Bollinger County.

Multiple agencies on Thursday served a search warrant at the 225-acre property as part of the missing person investigation. This was earlier reported to be in the area of Bollinger County Road 500 and State Highway 34.

During the search, officials found the human remains.

The identity of the remains is pending the results of an autopsy which will take place at a later date.

Assisting the sheriff's office in the investigation was the Woodland Fire Protection District, the Homeland Security Response Team, Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Bollinger County Coroner's Office.
