...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson
Counties.

.The Big Muddy River continues to rise due to heavy rain last week
and over the weekend. The river will crest on Thursday before
starting a very slow fall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 28.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 31.0
feet early Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
30.7 feet on 01/26/1949.

I-24 Westbound closed in McCracken County, Several agencies on scene

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. -- Officials have shut down I-24 westbound. 

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office at 11:12 a.m. on Wednesday to alert drivers of the closure. 

According to the post, both lanes on the westbound side of the highway are closed near mile marker 9.4. Deputies say the closure is due to a two-vehicle crash involving a diesel fuel spill. 

Several agencies are reporting to the scene. 

Drivers are urged to avoid the highway if possible. The suggested detour is at Exit 11.
