Kentucky roads affected by flooding, other spots under surveillance

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Crews have alerted drivers to significant flooded spots over roads in Western Kentucky.Ìý

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) sent the report at 4:30 this morning for the following spots.Ìý

U.S. 51 in Hickman County has water covering at least one lane. The site is marked with signs at mile-marker 9 around the County Club that sits north of Clinton. KYTC crews are present monitoring the situation.Ìý

Over in Marshall County, KY 1462, better known as Benton-Birmingham Road, has closed around mile-marker 2. This is near the Clarks River Bridge. Crews have placed signs and barricades to keep drivers from crossing this spot.Ìý

Additionally, KY 1949, or Wadesboro Road, is also closed at mile-marker 7.3. This is by Middle Fork Creek just south of the I-69 Tunnel.

Crews also urge drivers to use caution along KY 95 in Calvert City as the road saw damaged areas throughout the night.Ìý
