BENTON, Ill. -- Illinois workers with professional licenses should start working on the renewal process soon.Ìý
State Representative Dave Severin has issued a statement reminding those who possess licenses the standard expiration date in Illinois is September 30. He tells those who need renewals to reach out to the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation at the earliest convenience.Ìý
"My advice to folks in the 116th district who are working in impacted professions is to get to work early on making sure your license is renewed and your job is protected," said Severin. "Although there have been some improvements to delays in professional licensure, there is no time to waste between now and the deadline. Take action, and get your license renewed."Â
Some of the main jobs requiring these licenses include accountants, physical therapists, psychologists and cosmetic teachers.Ìý
"I have been in close coordination with [officials] to improve outcomes and lower delay times for license renewals dating back to the beginning of this General Assembly," said Severin. "I'm letting people know now that we have more work to do, but things are improving."
