MARION, Ill. -- Marion Police buckled down on speeding throughout the month of July.聽
The city's police department revealed on Wednesday that the team partnered with other law enforcement agencies throughout the state to combat speeding among drivers. The department said in a press release it hopes the message will in turn help to save lives.聽
The Marion Police Department revealed the following statistics from its July efforts:聽
- 38 speeding citations
- Six other citations
- Other normal, daily citations
Marion thanks the Illinois Department of Transportation for its federal traffic safety funds in connection with this project.聽
