JACKSON, Mo. -- A person and two pets died in a house fire on Saturday.聽
Fire officials in Jackson noticed the fire stemming from a home in the 700 block of West Jefferson Street around 1:13 p.m. The officials called back to headquarters to get backup sent to the scene.聽
Upon the arrival of more firefighters, officials entered the building in "rescue mode." Crews quickly discovered a person unresponsive in the home. The person was immediately removed from the building and given medical attention.聽
During the attention to the victim, officials inside found two unresponsive dogs.聽
Efforts to rescue the victim and the pets were ineffective.聽
The Jackson Fire Department received help on the scene from Cape City, Fruitland and Gordonville fire officials. Jackson Police, Highway Patrol and CCPA also arrived to help.聽
At this time, officials have deemed the fire an accident.
