Pedestrian taken to St. Louis hospital after hit by car

BULTER COUNTY, Mo. -- A female pedestrian has been hospitalized after reportedly getting hit by a car. 

According to online traffic crash reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Peggy S. Ledford, 49, of Poplar Bluff, was hit by a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Chloe N. Rainbolt, 18, of Doniphan, MO. 

The report indicates the incident occurred on Friday night around 9:35 along Business 67 half a mile south of Poplar Bluff. The information states that Rainbolt hit Ledford and drove from the scene. 

Ledford was reportedly taken to a St.-Louis-University-operated hospital by a medical flight. Her injuries have been described as "serious."
