.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River for the next
week, dropping near to below flood stage by April 21.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until Monday, April 21.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 25.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Sunday evening and continue falling to 19.6 feet Monday,
April 21.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ill. -- I-64 is reportedly closed in areas after floodwater flows over the roadway.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is reporting traffic moving at a crawl in Washington County from Richview to Okawville. A portion of I-64 in this area has been shut down.

Photos from viewers are showing flooding across both westbound and eastbound of I-64.

Motorists are urged to not travel in the area at this time.
