JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. 鈥� Authorities are alerting motorists of closed roads due to flash flooding in the Jefferson County area on Tuesday morning.
The Jefferson County Sheriff鈥檚 Office is reporting several roads with water across them throughout the county.
As of 11:06 a.m. these roads are flooded according to the sheriff's office...
- Highway 37 south of Loop Road
- E. Dix-Irvington & N. Boyd Lane
- N. Hall Lane
- N. Passport Lane & E. Heisman
- 700 block of E. Dix-Irvington Road
- Old Centralia & Tinsley
- N. Casey Pike & Strawbridge
- Riddle Lane
- E. Carpenter & N. Krupp Lane (Half of road washed away here)
- Highway 15 & Drivers Lane
- Highway 148 & Spruce
- Dubois Black Top Near Riddle
- Most of Highway 15 water on roadway
- Butternut Road
- Cornell West of Shiloh
- Boyd Lane & Drivers Road
There could be more roads with flooding at any given time as rain continues.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ill. -- I-64 is reportedly closed in areas after floodwater flows over the roadway.
The sheriff鈥檚 office urges you to remain cautious while driving and remember to turn around, don鈥檛 drown.
