.Historically high forecast rainfall amounts will heighten the risk
of flash flooding and flooding Wednesday through Sunday.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding and flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected. Preliminary projections of up to 1 foot of total
rainfall over parts of the area is not out of the question.

* WHERE...All of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, western
Kentucky, and southwest Indiana.

* WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and especially low-lying and flood-prone
locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Multiple rounds of locally heavy rainfall over several days
will result in extreme forecast amounts of up to 1 foot of
rain that will cause the risk of flash flooding and flooding
to rise markedly.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flash
Flood and Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding
should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

SIU Softball wins over Belmont 3-0

SIU Softball

NASHVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) � The Saluki softball team comes home a winner after a 3-0 game over Belmont on Saturday.

The ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois University Softball team (18-15, 10-1) came out victorious over Belmont (24-10, 8-3) in Nashville, Tennessee, and won the series 2-1.

SIU got the runs going in the top of the 4th inning, scoring the first two runs. They tacked on another run in the 7th. Defense then sealed the win in the bottom of the 7th.

SIU had 5 hits and 0 errors compared to Belmont’s 2 hits and 1 error.

Next up is against Indiana State in Carbondale on April 4.
