"The tradition continues" - 'Big Chill', formerly Dairy Queen, now open in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- An eating establishment in Carbondale has opened their doors on Friday, starting a new chapter and welcoming customers to continue making memories.

'The Big Chill', formerly Dairy Queen, is now open!

The new ice cream shop opened up at noon on Friday and will close at 9 p.m.

Mark Waicukauski was the former manager there at the once Dairy Queen restaurant in Carbondale, now operating 'The Big Chill.'

On a sign out in front of the new eatery, it read "The tradition continues."
