Vehicle located after juvenile struck going to bus stop in hit-and-run incident in Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- UPDATE: Oct. 18, 4:36 p.m. - Police in Poplar Bluff said the vehicle has been located.

ORIGINAL: Oct. 17 - 4:58 p.m. - Police are looking for a driver in a red SUV after a child was hit on his way to a bus stop.

The Poplar Bluff Police Department said the incident happened at 8:11 a.m. on Tuesday in the 1100-block of W. Harper Street.

Police said witnesses saw a male juvenile who was going to a bus stop when he was hit by a red SUV. They said the SUV did not stop after hitting the juvenile.

A neighbor reportedly took the juvenile to a hospital. He was later taken to the St. Louis Children's Hospital for continued treatment.

It is unknown the seriousness of the child's injuries.

Area surveillance video was obtained by police. They said the images in this story are believed to be the suspect's vehicle.
