CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) The Cape Girardeau Police Department says on Saturday, May 3rd, they received a weapon violation report around 10 p.m. at a downtown parking lot.

When authorities arrived, the suspect's vehicle had already left the lot.

It was later located and police conducted a traffic stop.

Cape Police say both the driver and the front passenger were adults, while two other passengers were minors.

A search of the vehicle found two bottles of alcohol and a stolen loaded gun.

Police say that before the stop, 18-year-old Abigail Thompson of Cape Girardeau, the front passenger,  was seen in the parking lot pointing a gun at a minor and drinking alcohol.

The driver, 18-year-old A'Tyren Daso of Murfreesboro, TN, is alleged to have given police a false name several times. Cape Police say they were able to identify him through his fingerprints.

Both Daso and Thompson were arrested.

Daso and Thompson face two felony charges of receiving stolen property and unlawful use of a weapon. They also face a misdemeanor charge of possessing alcohol by a minor.

Daso is facing an additional misdemeanor charge for driving on a revoked license.

Both Daso and Thompson's bonds are set at $20,000 cash only.
