Flooding in Nashville

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ill.. -- The Washington County Emergency Management Agency updated residents on Wednesday evening about the dam in Nashville, Illinois.

The biggest takeaway from the information is the stabilization of the dam. Authorities from Nashville and St. Louis completed an inspection of the Nashville Reservoir and say residents can return home.

Officials went on to say the flood waters are going down, but residents should remain cautious of any standing water for toxins and dangerous objects. Primary roads are back in operation for usual paths of travel.

Officials then revealed that, while no deaths or injuries were reported, about 20 damage reports were filed.

The Emergency Management Agency is working alongside local partners and the community for the recovery process.

The group says it is not currently taking monetary donations until a plan of action is formed.
