.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River for the next
week, dropping near to below flood stage by April 20.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...Breezy South Winds Expected Through the Evening...

Sustained south winds at 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 40 mph
will continue through this evening, with isolated gusts to 50 mph
possible. The strongest gusts are most likely to occur across
southeast Missouri into southwest Illinois.

Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. A few tree limbs
may also be blown down. High profile vehicles may encounter some
driving difficulty, especially on east-west roads.

WSIL(Carterville, Ill.)-- This morning, we are tracking temperatures that are in the upper 60s and聽 low 70s, with dew points in the mid 60s. So, its feeling pretty sticky this morning.聽

For most of the morning, you can expect to see mostly sunny skies. As we get after the lunchtime hour, we will see partly cloudy skies in 九游体育 Illinois, and mostly cloudy skies over southeastern Missouri. Despite a little more cloud cover, we will see highs today in the low 90s for much of the region, and heat index values in the mid to upper 90s.

For tomorrow and the weekend, we will see highs in the mid 90s with heat index values on the upper 90s and possibly low triple digits. Partly cloudy skies are expected for Friday and Saturday, with mostly cloudy skies expected for Sunday. We will be dry for Friday and Saturday, but for Sunday we will see isolated showers and storms as a week cold front approaches the region.聽
