Woman dead after motorized bicycle vs vehicle crash

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (WSIL) -- A 40-year-old woman is dead after a crash between a motorized bicycle and a vehicle on Wednesday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) said the crash happened at 3:20 p.m. on September 25 along Missouri Highway 53 inside the city limits of Poplar Bluff.

MSHP said Crystal Rulo, 40 of Poplar Bluff, was operating a 2023 Colorway motorized bicycle when the bicycle ran into the side of a 2020 Ford F150 at an intersection. The F150 was driven by a 21-year-old from Poplar Bluff at the time of the crash.

Rulo was taken to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead.

This was the 46th death related to a crash in the southeast Missouri area for Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E.
