BENTON, IL (WSIL) - Benton High School basketball star Docker Tedeschi is having a busy summer.

The rising senior spends his weekends playing for his AAU team.

Verbal offers from SIUE and EIU along with an unofficial visit to SIUC gave him plenty to think about.

Now, Tedeschi has ended the debate and committed to Colorado State, the very first school to show interest in him.

Docker is an fantastic shot blocker. At 6'8", he is hard to get around and harder to defend. He is hands down one of the best players in the state, and maybe even the best player in the area.

The Benton big man went on an unofficial visit to Colorado State last October. He went for his official visit on Monday and returned to the region as a future Ram.

With his college decision now behind him, the focus becomes trying to win a state championship.

The Rangers fell by just seven points to Philips in the 2A state title game last season.

"I had wanted to commit before my senior season to take the stress off and just worry about playing with my high school team and coach Winemiller," said Tedeschi. "I want to say thanks to my team and everybody who has supported me throughout this journey. Coach Winemiller has played such a big part. Isaac, Evan, Luke, everybody has been really helpful."

The Salukis get their first local commitment in Benton-star Issac Billington.

Tedeschi is in town for the summer. He's running basketball workout for kids with long-time friend and former rangers teammate Issac Billington who recently committed to SIU.
