MARION (WSIL) -- Marion's Nicole Szidik is taking her talents to Eastern Illinois.
With family on hand she signed a tennis scholarship on Friday.
The Wildcat senior is 54-10 in her career. Last season she was named Second Team All-State.
Szidik has a list of accolades, is also a gifted soccer player and it's hard to believe she didn't pick up tennis until her freshman year.
"I didn't even have a racket," Szidik said. "I used my mom's old ceramic racket I think and it was from twenty years ago so I just came out there and I just started, I didn't even want to use another racket than hers. I thought it was the best one. She told me it was so good and I believed her. I don't need any other racket and so I just started using it and I found out I can hit the ball and place it pretty well so that's where it began."
