NASHVILLE, IL (WSIL) -- On February 12th Nashville boys basketball head coach Wayne Harre joined the 500 win club in dominating fashion.

The Hornet cruised past Sparta winning by 50 points. Harre's been in the community for a long time playing basketball at SIU from 1986-1988. He has also been a pillar in girl basketball, leading the Nashville girl's basketball program to more than 400 wins. Harre reflects on this milestone.

"I don't really feel it's about me, it's about the kids and the people that have played for me and they shared the award with me," said Harre. "It's a number I didn't see coming. I never thought I would be coaching for 19 years . I'll be honest with you I never thought that was coming. It was kind of a Tony La Russa type thing. I t was a year by year contract here and I always tried to evaluate myself if I wanted to come back and I decided I'd like to come back for all these years, but again it was nice. But it was an award shared with all the people that helped me and all the assistants that have helped me."
