FLORENCE, AL (WSIL) -- McKendree University left Florence, Alabama with their second straight BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops.
It came down to the final five minutes of the tournament. Carterville's Blake Jackson caught a bass giving them five for the day, and giving him and teammate Trevor McKinney of Benton a ninth place individual finish.
That catch allowed McKendree as a team to win School of the Year honors. Bass fishing's equivalent to a national championship.
206 boats competed in the two day event at Pickwick Lake in Alabama.
