Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

HARRISBURG, IL (WSIL) - Longtime Harrisburg boys basketball coach Randy Smithpeters is is stepping down as the Bulldogs coach. He has been the Harrisburg head coach since 1993.

Smithpeters was inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame in 2017.

The veteran reapplied for the job but the school board went in a different direction.

Smithpeters earned a state championship during the 2012-2013 season. He also 12 regional titles, 6 sectional championships and 5 SIRR Ohio Conference crowns.
