The playoff drought is officially over in Carbondale. For the first time since 2009, SIU football earns a spot in the FCS Playoffs.

The Salukis didn't have to wait long to hear their name called during the Selection Sunday show earlier today .The dawgs will face a 5 and 0 Weber state team from the Big Sky conference in the first round.

The salukis were given one of the last two at-large bids in the condensed 16 team playoff bracket. Yesterday's big win over Southeastern Louisiana proving to be a playoff clincher. The 5-3 Salukis had 4 wins over ranked opponents on their resume this year including a massive win over the number one ranked team at the time North Dakota state.

Salukis will travel to Utah to play the undefeated Weber state

Game is Saturday, a 3pm central time kick televised on ESPN3.

The Missouri Valley gets 5 teams into the playoffs speaking to the strength of the conference.

#1 seed South Dakota state will play Holy Cross

Missouri State and North Dakota will play each other in round 1

North Dakota state will face Eastern Washington
