CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- A flood watch has been issued for counties in southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, western Kentucky and southwest Indiana for Saturday night through Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued the flood watch, effective from 6 p.m. on December 28 through the morning of December 29.
This is due to concerns for flash flooding from excessive rainfall through the evening and overnight hours. Rainfall could cause flooding in rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying areas.
A storm system could bring as much as three inches or more in certain areas.
