...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and near Murphysboro

.Moderate flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At
Plumfield, the river is currently cresting near 28.1 feet. At
Murphysboro, the river has crested and started a very slow fall.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
28.0 feet on 04/03/1985.

Temperatures

Carterville IL. (WSIL) -- What a breath of fresh air today was. Finally got a more seasonable day with high temperatures holding in the 60s across the area. A much cooler day with a breeze out of the north helping to keep things chilly even with the full sunshine. That dry cold front really did its job out across our viewing area.

A classic and beautiful fall evening is in store as the sun sets we will see temperatures get chilly quickly. Low temperatures will get back to those low 40s which will have you needing a jacket out there this evening and tomorrow morning. For Sunday, we expect to copy and paste today's weather, so enjoy the end of the weekend!
