Carterville (WSIL) -- Its finally here! The official first day of spring! It feels like it too with temperatures shooting up into the 60s today across the region. A nice rebound from where we were at yesterday.Â

You will definitely notice the wind speeds increasing today with gusts around 30 mph or so through the afternoon. That along with the low relative humidity makes for some messy fire weather danger so make sure to hold off on any prescribed burns until later in the week.Â
Other than that today and Wednesday look like amazing days to get outside and enjoy the nice 60 degree weather. We do see more clouds building as we head towards Thursday and Friday with another system moving into the area. Right now models are fairly sparse with the precipitation so we have maintained isolated chances on both days. A more widespread potential for rain exists as we start next week.Â
