CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It was a cold but sunny afternoon. Overnight, winds will pick up out of the southwest and clouds will build back in. This will help prevent temperatures from getting too cold. Lows will dip into the upper 20s, but should rise back into the low 30s by Wednesday morning
Temperatures will continue to climb as we head into the afternoon. It will be much more comfortable, highs will rise back up near 50 degrees. This will melt any remaining snowfall.Â
However, the warm-up is very brief. Another blast of cold air returns by Thursday. Lows will dip back down near 20 degrees Thursday morning, followed by highs near freezing.Â
Thankfully warmer weather is expected to return by the weekend. The chance for rain holds off until Sunday.
