WSIL -- Back to feeling like winter this morning. Winds are out of the north and temperatures have dipped back to around the freezing mark. Winds out of the north are making it feel a little cooler with wind chills pushing back into the upper 20s.
Sunshine this morning will give way to more clouds this afternoon, especially in southern Illinois and western Kentucky. Temperatures the last two days have warmed into the lower 60s, but this afternoon, most will peak in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
Our first, of several, rain chances arrives Friday morning, mainly into western Kentucky and the Missouri Bootheel as a system tracks along the Gulf Coast.
More rain chances are possible throughout the weekend with potential for heavier rain near the Kentucky/Tennessee line.
