flood stage near Plumfield and Murphysboro late Sunday or Monday.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Monday morning.

- At 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 24.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Sunday evening and continue falling to 17.5 feet
Tuesday, April 22.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Little cooler for a little while

(WSIL) -- A brief cool down is with us and will bring a chance for some fog Thursday morning. The return to warm muggy conditions will accelerate during the weekend. Pop-up storms are a possibility Friday through Sunday but overall chances of rain in any one spot will stay lower than 50%.

Looking ahead continues to show a chance for a significant cold front in the region next week opening the door for more fall like conditions. I will have the latest forecast updates on News 3 WSIL.
