CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- It's been a mostly dry Sunday but that will begin to change this evening.
Our next system will begin moving into the area tonight ramping up the chance for rain with possibly of a rumble of thunder or two. Showers will begin pushing into southeastern Missouri as early as 7 and will continue to spread across the region from west to east overnight.
Widespread showers and pockets of heavy rain will still be possible as many of us are getting ready to head to work or school Monday morning. Have the umbrella on standby.
The rain and clouds will then clear from west to east throughout the first half of the day on Monday. Folks in our western counties have the best chance to see some sunshine by the afternoon. It'll be a warm day with temperatures above average. Highs are projected to climb into the 60s.
Meteorologist Jacie Brianne will be tracking this system tonight on News 3.
