CARTERVILLE Il. (WSIL) -- Another wonderful day across the region. Temperatures soared into the low 80s across much of the region. Mixed clouds and sun today really just made it a picture perfect day to get outside and enjoy those outdoor activities. I hope you made the most of the past few days because changes are on the way!
Clouds will increase tonight and we will wake up Monday to mostly cloudy skies. The next two days will feature on and off periods of rain and storms. It wont rain the entire day but there will be periods of a couple hours or so where you see a round of rain with some thunder mixed in. Because of that temperatures will stay a bit cooler in the low 70s but still warm for this time of year.Â

Tuesday expect more of a traditional afternoon summer time storm threat but again at this point the ingredients are not supportive for severe weather, just general thunderstorm activity in the afternoon due to the heating of the day. All in all we will be looking at a general .5 - 1 inch of rainfall area wide with localized spots seeing 2+ inches if you're able to get under a few thunderstorms through the period.
We will quiet down and dry out Wednesday and Thursday before another wave of activity for the end of the week.Â
