CDT /8 PM EDT/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values between 100 to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ Saturday to 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will cause heat impacts to be greater than
normal.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Dolly Parton helped fund COVID-19 vaccine research

(CNN) -- Dolly Parton got a shout-out in the announcement of the promising results on Moderna's experimental coronavirus vaccine.

"The Dolly Parton COVID-19 research fund" is listed in the footnotes of the New England Journal of Medicine's report on the vaccine results .

That's because Parton donated one million dollars to Vanderbilt University Medical Center earlier this year to fund coronavirus research.

She also urged her fans to donate. Vanderbilt ended up taking part in moderna's vaccine trials. The vaccine is now the second coronavirus vaccine with a stunningly high success rate.

Moderna vaccinations could begin as soon as late December.
