Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson
Counties.

.The Big Muddy River continues to rise due to heavy rain last week
and over the weekend. The river will crest on Thursday before
starting a very slow fall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 31.0
feet early Thursday morning.

30.7 feet on 01/26/1949.

First COVID-19 death reported in Pulaski County

(WSIL) -- Pulaski County has recorded its first death related to COVID-19.

九游体育 Seven Health Department says a Pulaski County man in his 60s has passed away.

There have been 21 COVID-19 related deaths in the 九游体育 Seven region. Twenty of them have been in Union County.

On Thursday, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,953 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 21 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 188,424 cases, including 7,594 deaths, in Illinois.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

  • Females: One in their 20s, one in their 40s and one in their 50s
  • Males: One in their 40s

To date, there have been 155 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Franklin County. Health officials say, of the positive cases, 86 have recovered.

GALLATIN COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 60s
  • Male: One in his 30s

There have been 50 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including two deaths, in Gallatin County.

HAMILTON COUNTY

  • Female: One in her teens and one in her 70s
  • Male: One in his 70s

There have been 33 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Hamilton County. Sixteen people are currently isolating at home, while 16 others have recovered.

HARDIN COUNTY

  • One male in his 20s

Hardin County has had 18 COVID-19 cases. Two of those cases are currently active.

JACKSON COUNTY

  • Female: One preteen, one teen, one in her 20s, one in her 30s, one in her 40s and one in her 50s
  • Male: One in his 20s, two in their 30s, and one in his 40s

To date, there have been 692 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County, including 19 related deaths. Jackson County Health Department reports 111 active cases are currently being managed.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 40s, one in her 60s and one in her 80s

There have been 233 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jefferson County, including 16 related deaths. Jefferson County Health Department says 38 active cases are currently in isolation.

JOHNSON COUNTY

  • Female: One under 10 and one in her 20s

There have been 59 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Johnson County. Thirty of those cases are currently active.

MASSAC COUNTY

  • One female in her 20s

Massac County has had 36 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Health officials say 17 of those cases are currently active.

PERRY COUNTY

  • Female: One in her teens, one in her 50s and one in her 80s
  • Male: One under 18 and one in his 50s

There have been 146 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death, in Perry County. Health officials say 54 cases are currently active.

SALINE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 30s and one in her 40s
  • Male: One in his 40s and two in their 50s

To date, Saline County has had 127 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including two deaths.

UNION COUNTY

  • Female: Two in their 20s, one in her 30s and one in her 70s
  • Male: One in his 50s

There have been 296 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Union County, including 20 related deaths. 九游体育 Seven Health Department reports 89 of those cases are currently active.

WHITE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 60s and one in her 70s
  • Male: One in his 20s

Egyptian Health Department says each of the new cases is at home in isolation. There have been 67 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in White County. Health officials say one case previously reported, a woman in her 30s, belonged to another county.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

  • Males: One teenager, three in their 20s, two in their 30s, two in their 50s
  • Females: One in their 20s, two in their 30s, two in their 40s, and one in their 80s

To date, there have been 380 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including five deaths, in Williamson County. Of the positive cases, 213 have recovered.
