Today's Forecast

WSIL(Carterville, IL)--After a mild day yesterday, we are tracking similar, but slightly warmer weather for today.

Outside currently, we are tracking temperatures that are largely in the mid to upper 30s, and a few spots are hanging onto the low 40s. Overall, it is slightly warmer this morning than yesterday. These slightly warmer temperatures can be attributed to a few more clouds. Things are dry this morning, and we are not tracking any rain chances for the morning.

By midmorning, any fair weather clouds should dissipate, and skies will be sunny. Temperatures will quickly warm into the mid to upper 40s by 9:00 AM and by noon, temperatures will be in the mid 50s. Wind gusts will be out of the south-southeast this morning at roughly five miles per hour, but calm through the afternoon.

We are tracking highs that will be in the low to mid 60s across the area, with the warmest temperatures likely occurring in far southeastern Missouri. Skies will remain sunny this afternoon.

This evening, we will see temperatures drop into the low 50s by 6:00 PM, and into the low 40s by 9:00. We will see a few more clouds as the night goes on, as well as the return of a variable wind at about 4 to 5 miles per hour.

Tomorrow's Forecast

Tomorrow, we are tracking morning lows that will be in the mid to upper 30s and low 40s. We will see mostly calm winds through the day as well as partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will warm into the upper 60s, and a few spots could make it to 70 where there are more sunny skies.

These mild conditions we saw yesterday, and will see today and tomorrow, can be attributed to an area of high pressure, that will last through the middle of the work week. By mid week, an area of low pressure will move into the area and bring increased rain chances by Friday.
