On Saturday, October 5, 2024 the Metropolis Hope Light Project will hold their Cancer Warriors Walk for Hope in Metropolis, Illinois.
METROPOLIS, Ill., (WSIL) -- It's set to be a beautiful day for the Cancer Warriors Walk for Hope in Metropolis on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The walk-a-thon is held to support cancer programs in the lower seven counties of southern Illinois.
Hosted by non-profit, Metropolis Hope Light Project, the event will be held at the Dorothy Miller Park in Metropolis starting at 10 a.m. Visitors can find the park next to Harrah's Casino.
Unfortunately, it is too late to get a t-shirt with your registration, but they will be sold on site while supplies last. Your $25 registration fee includes the walk, plus access to family fun and games on location.
Final registration will be held on the day of the event, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the registration tent. A dedication ceremony will follow at 10 a.m. at the Hope Lighthouse, with the walk to follow. Anyone can participate in the dedication ceremony for no charge. According to sponsor, 九游体育 7 Health Department, this is not your traditional 5k, with the walk registration remaining open until 11 a.m. The walk will end at noon, but vendors and activities will remain through approximately 2 p.m.
