20-Year-Old Faces Charges After Crash Injures Two

DONIPHAN, Mo. -- One person faces several charges after a vehicle crashed in Ripley County on Monday, which resulted in two sent to the hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) said the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. along Route Y, about two miles north of Doniphan on April 15.

MSHP stated in a crash report, Caleb Salinas, 20 of Doniphan, was driving north when the vehicle ran off the road, hit a ditch and overturned. The crash report also stated there was damage to a MODOT school bus stop ahead sign.

A 14-year-old was also a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Both were taken to hospitals with serious injuries. Both were reportedly not wearing any safety devices.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Caleb Salinas was arrested at 6:11 p.m. on April 15, nearly 45 minutes after the crash. 

Salinas faces charges of Felony Driving While Intoxicated - Alcohol - Serious Physical Injury, Careless and Imprudent Driving Resulting in a Crash, No Insurance, Fail to Display Valid Plates, Fail to Secure Child Less than 16 in Seatbelt and No Seatbelt, MSHP stated in an arrest report.
