36-year-old arrested in connection to deadly vehicle vs bicycle crash in southern Illinois

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ill. -- A southern Illinois man has been charged in a vehicle vs bicycle crash which resulted in the death of a man.

Illinois State Police (ISP) stated their Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Zone 7 arrested Corey A. Minemann, 36 of Ruma, Ill., stemming from the vehicle vs. bicycle incident which happened on August 8, 2023. on Oakdale Blacktop.

ISP said troopers were requested by the Washington County Sheriff's Office and investigated the crash.

The bicyclist in the crash was identified as Randy Love. Love was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash by the Washington County Coroner's Office.

Illinois State Police agents investigated and stated Minemann was connected to the incident.

A Washington County judge issued a warrant for Minemann's arrest on February 5, 2024.

Minemann was taken into custody on February 6, in Randolph County and was taken to the Randolph County Jail.

Minemann faces two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless homicide charges.
