JACKSON CO. (WSIL) -- A Carbondale woman has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for her role in a 2016 murder.

Lauren Stinde, 26, was one of three suspects charged in the death of Robin Stief.

Stief, 39, of Salem, was reported missing in August 2016. Her burned body was later discovered in a wooded area in the 900 block of East Main Street. Investigators said she had been beaten, strangled and suffocated before her body was placed in a large trash can and set on fire.

Stinde, along with Tiesha D. Anderson and Robert J. Dennis, were arrested for the murder.

Stinde pleaded guilty in late 2016 and agreed to cooperate with authorities.

Anderson pleaded guilty in July 2019 and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

The third suspect, Robert Dennis, has pleaded not guilty.
