CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) -- A man faces a gun charge after police respond to a weapon violation report.
The Cape Girardeau Police Department said they responded to a report of a weapon violation in the 1100-block of William Street on February 17, at 10:20 a.m.
When the first officer got there, police said they saw James Combs, 61 of Cape Girardeau, walking in the 200-block of S. Hanover and carrying a long gun.
Combs was then taken into custody without incident.
Police also said they learned Combs demanded a cigarette from a person in the same block the officer saw him at. The victim feared Combs was going to shoot him, police added.
Combs was taken to the Cape Girardeau Police Department and faces an unlawful possession of a firearm charge.
