Mulkeytown man sentenced to 7 life sentences to IDOC

BENTON, Ill. (WSIL) -- A 61-year-old was sentenced to seven life sentences on Thursday after earlier found guilty on sexual assault of a child charges.

Franklin County State's Attorney Abby Dinn said Charles Parvin, 61 of Mulkeytown, was sentenced to 7 life sentences to the Illinois Department of Corrections. These terms are to serve concurrently and Dinn stated he would have no chance at parole.

Several members of the victims' families were also there during the hearing.

Dinn stated Parvin was charged on April 30, 2021 with seven counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child charges. This being against three 8-year-old girls.

After testimonies and delays, the trial was scheduled in September of 2024 where Parvin was found guilty on all counts.
