SALINE CO., Ill. (WSIL) -- The man accused of shooting a teen in the head still doesn't have an attorney.

Alexander McWilliam appeared alone in Saline County court on Thursday, April 22. He told Judge Walden Morris he's still trying to contact an attorney--possibly in Kentucky.

MORE:

McWilliam was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing where State's Attorney Molly Wilson Kaiser would have presented the evidence against him. The state agreed to a two-week delay to allow McWilliam to search for legal representation.

Judge Morris reset the hearing for May 6 and told McWilliam to bring a lawyer or the court would appoint him one at that time.

McWilliam is accused of killing Mishealia Meredith. He family and friends were in court on Thursday. They work "Justice for Mishealia" T-Shirts and chanted as McWilliam entered and left the Saline County Courthouse.Â
