Police looking for man accused of strangling Paducah girlfriend

PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- Police are turning to the public for assistance in locating a man accused of assaulting his girlfriend early Saturday morning.

The alleged assault happened just after midnight in the 2600 block of Adams Street in Paducah, Kentucky.

According to a press release, the victim called police about 12:30 a.m. to report she was awakened by her boyfriend, Nicopolis English. Police said he was trying to strangle her. She said she managed to escape and get to a safe location, where she called police. According to police, the victim showed signed of physical assault.

Investigators allegedly obtained a video evidence on social media where English said he was going to kill the woman.

Officers and the department’s SWAT team served a search warrant at the home where the assault occurred, but did not locate English during the operation.
