PADUCAH (WSIL) -- Three teenagers were charged after they stole fireworks from a fireworks stand on Lone Oak Road and injured an employee.

Paducah Police were called just after 5:30 a.m. Monday to a fireworks stand in the parking lot of the former K-Mart store.

An employee and witnesses said that three black males wearing facemasks had entered the tent and took multiple boxes of fireworks, valued around $700. The employee said one of the three knocked him to the ground, causing a cut to his forehead.

The three robbers then ran to a black Volvo parked near a convenience store nearby.

Monday night an officer spotted the Volvo driving and stopped it for having a headlight out. Inside the officer found a large amount of fireworks and three facemasks.

Ke'Shawn Scott, the driver of the car, admitted to the theft and identified two juvenile occupants of the car as also being involved.
