MURRAY (WSIL) -- A Wisconsin teen is now in custody for making bomb threats, shots fired calls regarding Murray, Ky High School.
The Murray Police Department responded to the high school on January 25 for a report of shots fired and again on January 26 for a bomb threat.
Both reports were determined false and no real danger existed.
Through extensive investigation, detectives discovered the phone calls were made by Kya Nelson, 19 of Racine, Wisconsin.
Detective traveled to Racine, WI and assisted with the arrest of Nelson. He now faces two counts of Terroristic Threatening 2nd Degree and one count of Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree charges and is awaiting extradition to Kentucky.
Throughout the investigation the Murray Police Department was assisted by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Murray State University Police Department, ATF, FBI, Racine Police Department, Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, Murray Fire Department, Murray Calloway County Ambulance Service, and Calloway County Fire Rescue.
