SPARTA (WSIL) -- The Grand American championships will be returning to the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta in 2021.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources officially approved the use of the shooting complex for both the Grand American and U.S. Open shooting competitions.
Last year's competition was held in Missouri after IDNR cited COVID-19 concerns and wouldn't allow Sparta to host the competition.

The Grand American World Trapshooting Championships is the largest shooting event of its kind, spanning several days with more than 20 events and thousands in attendance.
The US Open will take place June 2-6, and the Grand American is August 4-14.
