...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Areas of southern Illinois along and south of Highway 13
and all of western Kentucky.

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop across
southern Illinois and western Kentucky. Areas that see
thunderstorms could receive 1.5 to 3.0 inches of rain in just
one or two hours, with locally higher amounts up to 4 inches
possible.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Drone show to feature Superman in Metropolis on June 14th

METROPOLIS, Ill. (WSIL) -- The sky over Metropolis will light up with the Superman Takes Flight Drone Show, a key highlight of the 2025 Superman Celebration.

The show, featuring 200 synchronized drones, will take place on Saturday, June 14 at 8:30 p.m. in the Harrah’s parking lot.

“The Superman Takes Flight Drone Show is the perfect fusion of innovation and imagination,� said Trish Steckenrider, Executive Director for the Greater Metropolis Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We’re excited to bring this cutting-edge tribute to the world’s greatest superhero to our celebration weekend.�

This 15-minute spectacle will showcase Superman soaring above the city in a dazzling light show choreographed to music.

Produced by Skyglow Drones, the show promises a unique visual experience, following their successful Fort Massac Encampment display.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early at Harrah’s Parking Lot for the best view of the event, facing the Ohio River and Railroad Bridge.
