Jackson County woman seriously injured after single-vehicle crash

AVA, Ill. (WSIL) -- A 22-year-old was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Jackson County on Tuesday.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said on March 25, at 5:57 a.m., members with the sheriff's office responded to a vehicle crash with injuries with possible entrapment.

After they got to the scene, the sheriff's office investigated and said a 22-year-old woman from Vergennes, was driving a 2021 Nissan going south on Highway 151, when the vehicle went off the road, hit an embankment and overturned. This caused significant damage to the vehicle which was later towed from the scene.

The sheriff's office said the woman was taken by an ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Ava Fire Department, Campbell Hill Fire Department, Jackson County Ambulance Service assisted the Jackson County Sheriff's Office at the scene.
