FOR NORTHEASTERN UNION...NORTHWESTERN JOHNSON AND SOUTHWESTERN
WILLIAMSON COUNTIES...

At 200 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Lake Of Egypt
Area, or 7 miles southwest of Marion, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Goreville and Lake Of Egypt Area.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 24 in Illinois between Mile Markers 1 and 8.
Interstate 57 in Illinois between Mile Markers 35 and 49.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for southern
Illinois.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

extending from 6 miles northwest of Goreville to 9 miles east of
Anna to near Dongola, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

Kroger to hold ribbon cutting after remodel in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Kroger in Carbondale is planning to hold a ribbon cutting event on June 6, to celebrate the reopening of their store after a recent remodel.

The Grand Reopening Ribbon Cutting event will be held at Kroger at 501 N. Giant City Road on June 6, at 8 a.m.

There will be samples and giveaways at the event. This includes a Blackstone Grill, a Michelob Golf Bag and more. There will also be $10 Kroger gift cards for the first 100 shoppers.

The event is sponsored by Carbondale Kroger and the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce.
