Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 22.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 14.0 feet Friday,
April 25.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Motorists urge to avoid SB I-57 at 68 mm in Franklin County due to traffic crash

BENTON, Ill. -- Authorities are urging motorists to avoid SB I-57 at the 68 mile marker due to a crash.

The Franklin County Emergency Management Agency alerted the public at 6:54 a.m. on Thursday and urge motorists to take alternative routes of travel near this location.

The nearest exits are at West Frankfort and Benton.
