In this edition of Pets of the Week, we feature four lovable dogs looking for their forever homes.
We start with Ryle, who is available at the City of Salem Animal Control in Kell. Ryle has been with the center for 18 days and has been medically cleared and fully vetted. Ryle is neutered, tested heartworm negative and started on prevention. He's also current on his vaccinations and microchipped. Some notable characteristics include an exuberant and happy personality, as well as the ability to keep a clean kennel overnight. You call City of Salem Animal Control at: 618-822-6696.
Carter is an adorable puppy and estimated to be about 4 months old. He's good with both cats and dogs. Carter is available at the Jefferson County Animal Control in Mt. Vernon. Interested parties can call the Jefferson County Animal Control at 618-244-8024.
We have Lil Cow, who is much bigger than he looks in the picture. He's said to be the favorite of many at the Humane Society of Southern Illinois. He's a big love bug, at about 75-pounds, and is considered to be an 'American Bully'. When he arrived at HSSI, he was covered in dermatitis caused by a flea and tick infestation. His fur is still healing, but his paws still have sores due to anxious chewing. Staff at HSSI say he has an amazing personality. They also say, Lil Cow will be neutered upon interest. He does have a small adoption fee of $50.
Finally, there's Larry, who loves to smile. Apparently, he has a smile on his face most of the time. When he gets into the play area, he really plays and even has the "zoomies". Larry really enjoys being with people, and a pat or a treat go a really long way. He would be a good family dog, but small children may be overwhelmed by his initial energy. Larry is available at the Franklin County Animal Control in Benton. If you're interested in his adoption, you can call: 618-439-9197
